The year 2021 and the new year of the ox
Welcome to 2021. We wish everyone a healthy and successful year. With a joint effort, we will weather the pandemic. Then it will again be possible to visit friends all over the world and get to know new cultures. Until then, we have to keep in touch online. The time has come on February 12th: According to the lunar calendar, the year of the buffalo / ox begins. Families gather and family members from all over the world will return home to be together and celebrate for a week. Streets, buildings and houses are adorned with red verses and red lanterns, since the color red is considered to be auspicious. Red envelopes with money are also given away to children and the elderly. People born in the year of the ox are considered hardworking, reliable, powerful and determined. They are tied to their homeland and practice traditional customs.
